Go to Administration → School → Admission numbers. The Admission Number Series card sets how every new learner’s number is built.
- 1Leave Auto-generate on.
- 2Pick a format preset — Pattern (ADM/2026/0001), Numeric only (0001), Year + sequence (20260001) — or Custom.
- 3For a pattern, set the prefix, separator, number of digits, and whether the year is included and the sequence restarts each year.
- 4Check the preview, then Save.
The format locks as soon as the first admission number is issued, so set it before admitting anyone. Numbers are unique within the school and cannot be changed after admission.
Parents paying by M-Pesa enter the admission number as the account number, so a short, easy-to-type format pays off.
