Setting up academic years, terms and classes

Start with the academic year and its terms, then add classes and streams for that year.

1. 1Go to Administration → School → Academics and select Create year.
2. 2Give the year a name, a start and an end date. Three terms are filled in for you — adjust their dates, or use Add term. Select Create year.
3. 3Use Activate on the year and on the current term.
4. 4Go to Academics → Academics → Classes and select Create class. Set the grade and stage, then Create class. Classes are added to the current academic year.
5. 5Open a class and select Create stream. Give each stream a name and capacity (Add stream adds more rows), then create them.

At the end of a term, close it from Academics → Academics → Term close.
